Icom’s IP Advanced Radio System
Icom’s IP radio, allows users to quickly establish a high quality network in a building by programming and connecting an IP1000C to an existing WLAN network. You can upload groups and individuals to the network and control the entire system through a computer. The IP100FS software on the computer also has a map feature, which makes it easy to locate all users.
An IP radio system is ideal for users who want to create a radio network using their own wireless network. Many hotels and offices have already invested in a wireless network, making this system a smooth and cost-effective solution. Hospitals, hotels, restaurants, shopping centers and companies that conduct business indoors would benefit most from this system.
- Easy to use
- Use your existing in-building Wi-Fi network
- Up to 100 users can communicate at the same time
- Encryption for extra security
- Radios can communicate as far as your IP network
- No license fees, no call charges
What is a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN)?
A traditional Local Area Network (LAN) is a group of computers and devices wired together that share a server.
A wireless local area network (WLAN) is a group of computers and devices wirelessly linked together. A WLAN system allows user to move around in a local coverage area while maintaining a network connection.
Extended Communication Range
Icom’s WLAN system extends your communication range
Using IP radio in wireless networks gives users different communication options
Individual, group or area communication
Users at a hotel, for example can move around and communicate freely throughout the network.
By deploying access points along the IP network, the system can communicate all the way from the basement to the top floor. The IP100H can access the nearest access point and can roam between them (same SSID’s are required for roaming use).
Communication between different locations
If connected over an Internet VPN, the IP100H/IP100FS can communicate between different locations.
Hands-free with full duplex communication
With an option earphone-mic or headset, hands-free operation allows you to communicate in the system while performing other tasks. You can also use full duplex in a group call.
