PeteSL -> D-PRS Interface Released (3/24/2007 4:28:57 AM)

D-PRS Interface 3.14.3.2 (and javAPRSSrvr 3.14b03) have been released.  Go to http://www.aprs-is.net/DPRS.aspx for details and downloads.

D-PRS Interface is an APRS<->D-STAR bridge allowing one or more APRS clients to see all of the D-STAR radios running in GPS or GPS-A mode on RF and other APRS clients running on D-PRS Interface as well.  D-PRS Interface also has full IGate capabilities to extend your bridge into the APRS-IS world-wide network.

D-PRS Interface is a Windows .NET 2.0 GUI application compatible with javAPRSSrvr/javAPRSIGate and can reside on the same RF network.  D-PRS Interface makes use of CRC and checksum error detection to prevent false signals from being gated to APRS-IS or displayed on your maps.

Note: 2820 users MUST set their Unproto to: API282,DSTAR* to use GPS-A mode.
Note: 92AD users MUST set their Unproto to: API92A,DSTAR* to use GPS-A mode.

PeteSL -> RE: D-PRS Interface Released (5/2/2007 4:22:05 AM)

D-PRS Interface has been updated to work around an issue with 2820's being set with nothing in UNPROTO.

D-PRS Interface and javAPRSSrvr can provide bidirectional gating to/from APRS-IS.  The announcement elsewhere in this forum on the DStarMonitor/javAPRSSrvr combination is unidirectional only (RF to APRS-IS only).

PeteSL -> RE: D-PRS Interface Released (5/9/2007 7:11:37 AM)

I have just posted an updated D-PRS Interface.  The only change is to the destination address of the translated packets (affects GPS mode only, not GPS-A mode).  The translated packets now use a destination address of APDPRS.  This will be the default for all D-PRS translated packets (Rich is implementing on his uSmartDigi board too).  This was done to improve dupe checking when gated to APRS-IS.

GPS-A mode 2820s should still use API282,DSTAR* for their UNPROTO.

PeteSL -> RE: D-PRS Interface Released (5/29/2007 4:42:47 PM)

New D-PRS Interface available at http://www.aprs-is.net/dstartnc2.htm  International support for translated coordinates added (where commas are used as decimal points).

PeteSL -> RE: D-PRS Interface Released (8/24/2007 11:11:24 AM)

I have posted a new release of D-PRS Interface at http://www.aprs-is.net/dstartnc2.htm

I have improved/fixed international support for lat/lon coordinates (properly uses default decimal point character on PC).

I have improved the received data display to ensure no cross-thread operation.

PeteSL -> RE: D-PRS Interface Released (10/23/2007 7:51:38 AM)

I have uploaded DPRS Inteface 3.12.14.01 to http://www.aprs-is.net/dstartnc2.htm

This uses the latest javAPRSSrvr engine and has improved error handling for registry errors.

I have uploaded DPRS Interface 3.12.14.02.
I THINK I have fixed the lat/lon entry issue, both domestically and internationally.  If there are any issues, please contact me directly at pete at ae5pl dot net.

PeteSL -> RE: D-PRS Interface Released (12/4/2007 8:36:29 AM)

I have uploaded DPRS Interface 3.12.14.04 to http://www.aprs-is.net/dstartnc2.htm

I have fixed the lat/lon entry issue, both domestically and internationally.

DPRS Interface can now be run in native 64 bit mode on 64 bit Windows platforms.

The C1 calculator is now internal to DPRS Interface allowing for 100% standalone operation.

Access to the internal javAPRSSrvr HTML status page has been added to aid debugging APRS client connections.

If there are any issues, please contact me directly at pete at ae5pl dot net.

PeteSL -> RE: D-PRS Interface Released (12/5/2007 6:01:49 PM)

There are some bugs in the 64 bit implementations of .NET regarding the serial port.  Because of this, I have pulled the AnyCPU (runs native mode on 64 bit and 32 bit systems) builds and posted refresh 6 which only runs in 32 bit mode but will run on any Windows platform with .NET 2.0 and J#.

I have uploaded D-PRS Interface 3.14.04.00 to http://www.aprs-is.net/DPRSInterface.aspx.

This version implements the June release of javAPRSSrvr which has built-in round-robin DNS support.  This means that you can easily use round-robin DNS names for the APRS-IS server you are connecting to.  With the announcement of the "regional" aprs2.net DNS names, you can now specify a single DNS name to allow you to fail-safe connect to any one of a group of servers.  If that server fails, D-PRS Interface will automatically go to the next server on the list.
