Icom Showcases new M85UL at International WorkBoat Show

KIRKLAND, Wash. (November 2019) – Come join Icom in New Orleans at the 2019 International WorkBoat Show, December 4th – 6th at the Morial Convention Center. This will be the place to be when it comes to networking, doing business, and seeing the latest and greatest innovation for the commercial marine industry.

Many of Icom’s iconic marine radios will be on display, but the M85UL will be at the front and center of our lineup this year. Also on display is our IC-SAT100, our satellite PTT radio in partnership with Iridium.

The new M85UL (intrinsically safe) is compact, and with only 5W of output power, it has been listed by UL as safe for hazardous environments. Critical features for this compact handheld include an IP67 waterproof rating, built to MIL-810 Standards, and an automatic emergency alarm with Man Down/Lone worker and MOB alarm functions. The M85UL also has 100 programmable Land Mobile channels, which is perfect for any commercial workboat.

Bring on the awards! For the third year in a row, our M605 fixed-mount transceiver took home the NMEA Product of Excellence award for best VHF Marine radio. It features a large color display for optimum visibility, last call voice recording, 30W listen-back hailer, built-in GPS, accommodation for up to three stations (COMMANDMICS™ and/or remote heads), and an NMEA 2000 connection. The M605 gives boaters flexibility so they never have to be tied to one station again while on board. (AIS model is also available)

The M506 fixed-mount VHF and AIS receiver combo is another three-time winner of the NMEA Product of Excellence. This full-featured radio gives users a large dot-matrix display for high visibility, ‘Last Call’ voice recording function, ‘Active Noise Cancelling’ technology, plus Icom’s new intuitive and menu-driven user interface.

Icom has a commercial radio that will fit your needs. The International WorkBoat Show offers three days of education, exhibits, and fun–this is a can’t-miss event. For more information on the show, please visit WorkBoatShow.com.
