Icom's M604 VHF radio wins NMEA communications' product of the year award for 2007

(Bellevue, WA) - Icom marine radios have taken top honors in annual National Marine Electronics Association
(NMEA) awards events for years. For 2007, the NMEA recognized Icom’s M604 marine VHF radio as the top product of all
communications devices. This year’s prestigious event was held October 17-20, 2007 at Amelia Island Plantation and
Resort in Jacksonville, Florida.
Two years ago the NMEA consolidated its many award categories into just seven, with “Communications” being one of
those categories. Says Icom America Vice President Bob Carey: “Within the communications category are a lot of
cutting-edge products, including satellite communications. For Icom to win the category two years running with a ‘mature’
product like a marine VHF radio is real testimony to the foresight of Icom design and planning, the talent of
Icom engineering, and the unmatched quality of Icom products. The M604 is the apex of its kind, the top of the top.
It is truly the ultimate marine radio.”
This is Icom’s 20th NMEA award. The NMEA industry awards recognize excellence in design, performance and reliability
in marine electronics products. The awards are selected by votes from marine electronics dealers, distributors and
other industry professionals.
