POSITION TITLE:   Parts Inventory / Sales Specialist
REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manager
LOCATION: Kirkland, WA


Includes receiving, restocking, re-ordering, cycle counts, inventory adjustments, issuing and maintaining flow of parts for AWAP situations. Responsible for processing parts orders which includes answering questions providing price, availability, part numbers and other information as requested for order entry and backorder release. Provide a high level of customer service.


  • Maintain parts inventory by reviewing backorder report, AWAPS for service department then generating parts orders for Home Company. Also makes adjustments to inventory for parts used by service departments.

  • Monitor inventory levels by establishing minimum re-order quantities and by doing cycle counts. Re-order as necessary to maintain uninterrupted parts flow to ICOM service department, dealers and retail customers.

  • Responsible for Home Company correspondence including parts purchase order requests and any additional correspondence related to parts. Make sure Home Company is aware of all AWAP orders (parts needed for service repairs). Following up on all ordering issues.

  • Receive parts by entering information into E1, physically receiving and put away each Home Company shipment. Also creates part numbers for new items received. Maintain pricing, item descriptions, changes, discontinued part numbers etc.

  • Works with team members to unload all incoming product shipments, sorts product in preparation for stocking product into isle bin locations.

  • Release parts from backorder after new shipments have been received.

  • Participates in semi-annual inventory process includes accurately counting assigned accessories and mainframes.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


  • 1-2 years experience in a customer service oriented position dealing with a high volume phone atmosphere with emphasis on radio related industry, highly desirable. Computer / order-entry experience a must. 1-2 years experience with inventory control system.

  • Must be a self-starter, able to establish daily priorities. Ability to set and communicate daily/weekly/monthly priorities. Must be organized to meet deadlines under pressure and handle multiple tasks.

  • Requires strong teamwork skills and flexibility to change priorities based on coverage needs of the department workload and customer requests.

  • 1-2 years experience working with electronic components. Understanding of electronic parts descriptions and their use, must be able to identify part types on sight (i.e. transistor, diode, etc.) Ability to read schematics helpful.

  • Attention to detail, accuracy, follow through, Strong interpersonal phone and written communication skills are essential.

  • Able to lift 30-40 pounds frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally with or without accommodation.

  • Able to work overtime as needed


  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of customer service experience in a fast paced environment required.

  • College related courses in marketing, communication or related field helpful.
