POSITION TITLE:   District Sales Manager - Land Mobile
REPORTS TO: Sr. Strategic Sales Manager
LOCATION:   Seattle/Portland Territory


The District Sales Manager is a sales professional who not only understands the products but also understands the customers and the environments that they are selling into. The Manager is a member of the Land Mobile Sales Team with the responsibility to achieve business sales goals. By providing a high level of technical proficiency with Icom Land Mobile products, the Manager will respond to and support local customers, prospect assigned opportunities, support government bids and contracts, and identify third party products and applications to achieve communication solutions. The combination of these efforts will differentiate Icom America from the competition and set the highest standards in the communications industry. The District Sales Manager will report to and be supervised by the Sr. Strategic Sales Manager.


  1. Build Business Relations with existing and new customers to achieve sales goals and meet sales strategies set forth by the senior management.

  2. Collaborate with regional sales manager for customer‐focused requests, pre-sales and post-sales support, and provide the first level of technical support to dealers and customers within the assigned District. Work with extended team members and managers to problem-solve, brainstorm, and achieve solutions and drive results

  3. Learn, Research, and Educate customers and dealers on ICOM’s product line, accessories, and applications. Demonstrate product knowledge by training others. Assess inventories at dealership, identify new opportunities for sales growth, and implement strategies to achieve and increase sales.

  4. Plan daily/weekly activities to travel to customers and dealers, and use each customer visit as an opportunity to train and coach. Schedule training for sales personnel, arrange shipment of literature, banners, POP’s, demo inventory, etc., review the dealer’s purchase history, and develop plans to increase ICOM presence.

  5. Inform internal team through sales reports and forecasting. Communicate regularly with sales team on status updates or when issues arise.

  6. Other duties and projects as assigned.


  1. Sales and negotiation experience required.

  2. Bachelor’s degree preferred; military background desired;

  3. Excellent verbal and written communications skills; professional demeanor; presentation and public speaking abilities.

  4. Experience and exposure to RF wireless technology through commercial and consumer products strongly desired.

  5. Work from a home office; ability to travel 2 weeks per month, including weekends when necessary; demonstrated self-starter.

  6. Ability to focus on details, execute strategies, be flexible yet decisive, and build strong working relationships with peers and customers.

  7. Proficiency in MS Office.

  8. Must live in assigned territory.

As Land Mobile technology continues to get more complex, our customers demand higher levels of technical support and customer service. To meet and exceed those expectations, a new level of technical sales and support is required. The District Sales Manager will provide an exceptionally high level of "local" support in both sales and technical guidance to the land mobile dealers and customers within the local district they reside in.
