POSITION TITLE:   Trade Show Assistant
JOB CLASSIFICATION:   Full-Time, Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO:   Trade Show Supervisor
LOCATION(S):   Kirkland, WA

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This is a hands-on, physical job that is based out of the Kirkland, WA headquarters. Assist with equipment, literature, and promotional items for all divisional trade shows including inventory, maintenance, packing, and tracking of all show equipment to and from each show. Support with details of assigned shows including booth space and any other booth supplies. Attend and set-up select shows, operate the Icom America booth, provide product information, field customer questions, and work with Regional Sales Managers to promote Icom products.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Pack/ship equipment and materials needed for each show. Preparation includes: Pulling radios and required booth components; making sure radios are in good working and cosmetic order; working with the service department to service/update radios as needed; programming radios; procure radios through consignment as needed. Follow up with show team for all show shipping.

  • Collaborate with schedule/track show shipments using existing show schedule.

  • Support monthly inventory of equipment and on a continuing basis.

  • Work closely with shipping companies to make sure equipment arrives safely, on time, and using cost efficient methods; communicate shipping status to stakeholders.

  • Aid with show planning meetings as required.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure area.

  • Travel to multiple trade shows per year; perform booth set up and take down.

  • Support Creative Services and Sales teams who may require research and/or follow up to resolve issues (i.e.; missing or damaged equipment, literature, last minute requests, booth maintenance and shipping).

  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

  • Misc Building / Shop Maintenance and Repair as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrate good decision making and sound judgment.

  • Ability to prioritize, execute multiple tasks, and easily adapt to changing priorities.

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

  • Superior organizational skills; demonstrate attention to detail, initiative, and follow through are required.

  • Computer skills - knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Comfortable operating power equipment/tools and basic build and maintenance projects.

  • Must have valid drivers’ license and clean driving record.

  • Knowledge of 2-way communications equipment desired.

  • Trade show experience is highly desirable.

  • Comfortability traveling domestically using multiple transit methods including air travel, public, and private transportation.

  • Experience with freight shipments highly desirable.

  • Able to lift 50 - 75 pounds frequently. Able to maneuver 100+ pounds.

  • Adaptable to management input that may change pre-approved project requests.

  • Open to cross-train with other departments as needed

  • Warehouse experience using pallet jacks and heavy lifting is a plus.
